Rock climbing

A week ago, I and my fiancee Marta were in Snowdonia, in north Wales for a two days intensive course of rock climbing, for the very beginners. We drove overnight 250 miles from London to Tremadog's Craig Bwlch y Moch which is located just a few miles from Porthmadog. The course was organize by the great experienced climber Garry Smith who owns a one-person company called gethigh.co.uk. The first day we learnt basic rope-work and immediately started to climb. Being taken by surprise, we did not realize that after an hour or so we climb our first route called Oberon. It is apparently very easy one but we were very proud of ourselves :). The same day we also did two other a bit more difficult routes: Christamas Curry and Yogi. The night we spend in a beautiful city of Llanberis at the Nita's B&B. Sunday morning was rather cloudy and it was raining when we started our next route, this time in Ogwen Valley, at the base of Tryfan mountain. We climbed so called "Direct Route" but without the last chimney ... it was wet and muddy ... of course. In the afternoon, we had a quick introduction to techniques used in indoor climbing so that we can ourselves practice on artificial walls. After return home, we could admire Marta's conviction during the two days of climbing which was very obvious simply by looking at her bruises on the legs ... which could easily be a proof the court during a "family violence" trial. I myself had sore knees which shows that we used our whole bodies during the climbs.

PS. The photography was taken by our guide Garry from one of pitches on the Direct Route. If you look carefully at me I seem to be crying ... but I was not. I promise I was just very focused not to fall :)
